KXD Mobile K30 hands-on review: dual temptation

KXD Mobile, the company with a rich portfolio of ultra-high cost-performance ratio smartphones, recently released its brand new smartphone, the K30, with a campaign named “the art of glass”. The campaign shows K30’s pursuit for design, materials and craftsmanship. Many people have left the first impression of glamorous appearance and fine craftsmanship for the KXD K30. Now we finally got a retail version of the brand new KXD K30, let’s dive in!
Design

The K30 eludes premium the moment you hold it in your hand. According to a KXD industrial designer, the design of the K30 is inspired by the beauty of glass arts, using modern technology and craftsmanship to create a new interpretation of modern glass art. The KXD K30 uses ultra strong fortified glass on both sides, which is damage and scratch resistant, and also a beauty to behold with its 2.5D edge. What’s more, the back cover has 10 layers of nano-optical coating, which gives the glass a rich layer of illusion and reflects light and shadow from different angles.
Hand-feel

The hand-feel of the K30 is simply unforgettable. The metal band around the phone acts as part of the antennas and also the structure that holds the front and back glass covers together with rounded curvature to offer great hand-feel. The metal frame is processed with high precision CNC of 0.05mm, with the color of the rear glass cover, making middle frame melt between the two glasses. Kudos to KXD designers and engineers for such a stunning piece of work!
Display

K30 features 13MP+5MP dual rear camera set-up with an 8MP front camera. The main camera has F2.0 large aperture, making low-light shots just clearer. During our brief test, the output images are crisp and vibrant with accurate white balance which are rarely seen at $100 price range phones. The front camera has F2.2 large aperture and beauty mode, enhancing selfies for different face shapes and skin tones in real-time, delivering pleasing results.
Performance

The K30 is powered by a fast and efficient octa-core MTK6750 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and a large 3000mAh battery. During our test, we found K30 delivers all-day battery life and smooth experience with no lags or hick-ups.
Software

Last but not least, K30 comes with KXD OS based on Android 8.1 with custom UI and several handful additional features. It has no bloatware and offers a pure experience like a breeze. What’s more, the KXD K30 features two super fast ways to unlock your phone, rear fingerprint unlock and face unlock, all in a speed of up to 0.3 seconds..
Conclusion

The KXD K30 offers premium design and aggressive price tag, making it hard to resist for people seeking for a good-looking entry-level smartphone. Dual temptation, that’s the best way to describe the KXD K30.
